PURPOSE: A light diffusing layer, a light diffusing film, and a light diffusing adhesive sheet employed in a lighting system such as a backlight for LCD is provided to diffuse incident light over an appropriate range of angles. CONSTITUTION: A light diffusing layer includes a resin matrix and a plurality of spherical fillers. The spherical fillers have a different refractive index from a refractive index of the resin matrix. The resin matrix is formed with an adhesive. A refractive index of the adhesive is in a range from 1.40 to 1.70. A particle diameter of the spherical fillers is in a range from 1 micrometer to 10 micrometers. A thickness of the light diffusing layer is in a range from 10 micrometers to 100 micrometers.
