PURPOSE: An armrest for a vehicle is provided to promote passenger's convenience by enabling angle adjustment while the armrest is tilted at a predetermined angle according to an axial rotation direction. CONSTITUTION: An armrest for a vehicle comprises a pair of gear part covers(10) each having through holes(10a) in the center; a first gear part(12) arranged between the gear part covers; a second gear part(14) arranged between the gear part covers and engaged with the first gear part; a spring(16) arranged between the gear part covers and the second gear part; a rest bar(18) arranged to the outside of the gear part covers in a state of enabling axial rotation; a rotating shaft(20) piercing from the rest bar to the gear part cover of the opposite side; and a rotating shaft support part supporting the outer periphery of the rotating shaft to enable axial rotation of the rotating shaft projected to the opposite side of the rest bar. An abutting hole(12a) coaxially arranged with the through holes of the gear part cover is formed to the first gear part. The spring axially rotates the second gear part at a predetermined angle to make gear teeth of the first and second gear parts engaged and separated with/from each other. An abutting hole(18a) coaxially arranged with the abutting hole of the first gear part is formed to a side of the rest bar. The outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft is abutted with the abutting holes of the rest bar and the first gear part.
