AVATAR TRANSMITTING METHOD USING A MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORK, PARTICULARLY FOR AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOADING AND STORING AN AVATAR SELECTED BY A CALLER IN A DESTINATION TERMINAL

PURPOSE: An avatar transmitting method using a mobile communication network, particularly for downloading and storing an avatar selected by a caller in a destination terminal, is provided to allow a callee to easily recognize caller information by displaying the stored caller's avatar and nickname when the caller requests call connection. CONSTITUTION: When an origination terminal sets an avatar origination mode and inputs a destination number(201), it is connected with an avatar server(203). The avatar server checks whether the origination terminal has been subscribed as a member(205). If the origination terminal is a subscribed member, the avatar server transmits a plurality of stored avatars to the origination terminal and the origination terminal selects a desired avatar and inputs a nickname(207). The avatar server transmits an avatar reception message to a destination terminal(211), and the destination terminal automatically downloads the selected avatar and the nickname(213). It is checked whether the avatar has been completely transmitted to the destination terminal(215). When avatar transmission is completed, the avatar server transmits an avatar completion message to the origination terminal(217). It is checked whether the origination terminal requests call connection from the destination terminal(219). When a call connection request signal is inputted, the destination terminal displays the avatar and the nickname corresponding to caller information(221).
