DAMPING FORCE-VARIABLE SHOCK ABSORBER FOR SECURING TURNING STABILITY OF A VEHICLE BY SUPPLYING STRONG DAMPING FORCE IN TURNING AS DECREASE RATIO OF OPENING OF A VALVE HOLE IS PROPORTION TO DEGREE OF A STEERING ANGLE
PURPOSE: A damping force-variable shock absorber is provided to secure the characteristic change of a suspension demanded for various driving conditions of a vehicle by changing automatically damping force according to traveling conditions such as the turning and bump of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A damping force-variable shock absorber comprises a piston rod(3) installed to move rectilinearly in a cylinder(1); an orifice valve plate(9) composed of a plurality of valve holes intermittently arranged along a circle about the piston rod and fixed to the piston rod; a rotary valve plate(13) rotated for the orifice valve plate to change an opening area of the valve hole, formed with a plurality of projection units protruded radially about the piston rod, and fixed to the piston rod to rotate adjacently to the orifice valve plate; and a guide unit disposed between the rotary valve plate and the cylinder to change the rotation of the rotary valve plate for the orifice valve plate.
