PURPOSE: A driver apparatus of an organic light emitted diode(OLED) and a method for driving an OLED are provided to reduce the driving current by drastically decreasing the amount of required current in precharge period. CONSTITUTION: A driver apparatus of an organic light emitted diode(OLED) includes a precharge current source(200), a driving current source(300) and a discharge device(400). The precharge current source supplies the precharge current to the OLED so as to apply the threshold voltage to the OLED in precharge period. The driving current source supplies the driving current to the OLED so as to apply the driving voltage higher than the threshold voltage to the OLED in a driving period. And, the discharge device discharges the charges in the OLED to drop the voltage applied to the OLED to a critical voltage lower than the threshold voltage in a discharge period.
