PURPOSE: A method is provided to prevent a sound mute by changing broadcast channels and outputting a buzzer sound when a broadcast channel with no signal is output upon turning on a television by a reservation function. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step(S10) of automatically turning on a television in accordance with a reservation function at the time set by a user; a step of selecting the signal of the broadcast channel set by a user, and outputting the relevant broadcast; a step(S11 to S14) of judging whether the signal of the relevant broadcast channel is sensed or not, outputting an image and a sound when the signal of the broadcast channel is sensed, and sequentially selecting and scanning the memorized broadcast channels when the signal of the broadcast channel is not sensed; a step(S15) of outputting an image and a sound when a signal of an arbitrary broadcast channel is sensed during the scanning process, and judging whether the position of the broadcast channel set by a user is the position of the present broadcast channel when a signal of a broadcast channel is not sensed; and a step(S16) of proceeding the scanning process if the position of the broadcast channel set by the user is not the position of the present broadcast channel, and generating a buzzer sound when the position of the broadcast channel set by the user is the position of the present broadcast channel.
