SATELLITE BROADCASTING:channel separation requirements for f. m.sound signals and for a f. m. sound signal adjacent to a f. m. television signal

This report describes experimental work carried out to determine the frequency separation required between high-deviation f.m. sound signals, and between f.m. sound and f.m. television signals, when they are transmitted on adjacent channels. A frequency separation of 0-8 MHz is recommended for situations where two f.m. sound services occupy adjacent channels and, where sound and television services occupy alternate channels, a separation of 15 MHz is recommended The separation required between television signals with sound accompaniment on a separate carrier is also covered and compared with the requirements for television signals which incorporate the accompanying sound signal on a subcarrier. In these cases, the separations recommended are 30 MHz and 29-5MHz, respectively.
