PURPOSE: A microwave repeating system and method for implementing reception diversity in the microwave repeating system is provided to remarkably enhance receive sensitivity and transmission characteristics compared to an existing repeater. CONSTITUTION: A remote RF unit(120) receives a source RF signal from a user terminal(110) through a main path antenna and plural path antennas, generates a plural path RF signals by converting the RF signals which have been received through the plural path antennas to have a time delay value with a predetermined size and a frequency interval with a predetermined size compared with the RF signals which have been received through the main path antenna, combines the plural path RF signals and the main path RF signal to generate a combined RF signal, and transfers the combined RF signal. A remote MW(Microwave) unit(130) converts the combined RF signal into a microwave band signal and radiates it in the air through the first parabola antenna(140). A donor MW unit(160) restores the combined RF signal by using the microwave band signal received through the second parabola antenna(150) and transfers the combined RF signal. A donor RF unit(170) converts the combined RF signal received from the donor MW unit(160) according to the predetermined first method to generate a converted RF signal, and transfers the converted RF signal to a base station(180).
