PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for driving a plasma display panel are provided to make the sustain driving margin wide by stably and rapidly generating the sustain discharge. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a plasma display panel includes the steps of: supplying the first rising ramp waveform to the first electrode, wherein the first rising ramp waveform rises to the first voltage during the first period of the reset period; supplying the second rising ramp waveform to the second electrode as well as supplying the first falling ramp waveform to the first electrode, wherein the second rising ramp waveform rises to the second voltage during the second period of the reset period and the first falling ramp waveform falls down to the third voltage lower than the first voltage; and supplying the second falling ramp waveform to the second electrode, wherein the second falling ramp waveform falls down from the second voltage during the third period of the reset period.
