PURPOSE: An automatic shaper steel cutting device and a method thereof are provided to cut shaper steels used as a reinforcement in constructing a ship or a steel structure, to improve a production efficiency and a quality by integrally combining a primer paint remover, a marking device, a robot cutting device, and various conveyers into a system for orderly proceeding without any delay, and to work with even short shaper steels by including a belt-conveyer and a pusher-type excluding device. CONSTITUTION: In an automatic shaper steel cutting device, a shaper steel is inserted through a lead-in conveyer(1) to pass a primer paint remover(2). The shaper steel passed through the primer paint remover is selectively transported in a left or right direction. On the other hand, a lateral motion conveyer(4) has shaper steel loading units(5, 5a) installed on both left and right sides. Lead-in conveyers for cutting(6, 6a) transporting shaper steels supplied from the lateral motion conveyer is also installed on the left and right sides of the lateral motion conveyer. On each end of left and right sides of the lead-in conveyers for cutting, marking devices(8, 8a) and cutting devices(9, 9a) are orderly installed to form the cutting devices as a double line. On the other end of the lead-in conveyers for cutting, length measuring devices(7, 7a) detecting length of the shaper steel bars are installed. The shaper steels are cut while transported through the cutting devices and then the cut shaper steels are transported through excluding devices(11, 11a) and lead-out conveyers for cutting into holding places(12, 12a). Each device operates by the processing data previously input into a control unit.
