PURPOSE: A horizontal rotation-type portable terminal is provided to enable a screen portion to horizontally rotate in a body portion, so that a user can enjoy a TV broadcasting service on horizontal type screen, thereby realizing a video call or a photo taking function on the horizontal type screen. CONSTITUTION: A screen portion(110) is horizontally rotated in a body portion(120) by using a pivoting hinge apparatus(130). A keypad is intercepted from the exterior by a keypad cover, to prevent foreign substance from being incoming. The body portion(120) functions as a communication portion. The screen portion(110) displays various information as images while horizontally rotating in the body portion(120). One end of the pivoting hinge apparatus(130) is fixed to the body portion(120), while the other end thereof is fixed to the screen portion(110), such that the screen portion(110) can horizontally rotate in the body portion(120).
