PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method for driving the same are provided to prevent the deterioration of image quality generated due to the sustain discharge failure by changing the scan direction at the high temperature or the low temperature. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel includes a plasma display panel(100), a temperature sensor(600), a controller(240), an address electrode driving unit(300), a sustain electrode driving unit(400) and a scan electrode driving unit(500). The plasma display panel is provided with a plurality of address electrodes, a plurality of scan electrodes and a plurality of sustain electrodes. The temperature sensor measures the temperature of the plasma display panel. The controller generates the address electrode driving signal, the sustain electrode driving signal and a scan electrode driving signal and controls that the address electrode driving signal is rearranged in response to the measured temperature. The address electrode driving unit applies the voltage corresponding to the address electrode driving signal to the address electrode. The sustain electrode driving unit applies the sustain voltage to the sustain electrode in response to the sustain electrode driving signal of the controller. And, the scan electrode driving unit applies the voltage to the scan electrode in response to the scan electrode driving signal.
