PURPOSE: Micro-fluidic devices and methods are provided to screen large numbers of different compounds for their effects on a variety or chemical and biochemical systems. CONSTITUTION: Two series channels(110,112) and channel(114) for reagent are equipped. Each channel has at least one cross-sectional dimension in the range from about 0.1 to about 500 micrometer. Containers(104,106,108) are located at the end of channels(110,114). A sample channel is used to test compounds into the device. Biochemical signals from the system are monitored at detection window or detection area(116). The detection window observes and examines visually and optically.
