PURPOSE: A failure diagnosis device of a transmission and an algorithm thereof are provided to prevent unnecessary replacement or repair of components and to shorten the time for repair, by sensing the operating state of parts for shifting and warning a driver of the operating state, to enable simple and exact diagnosis of a broken part. CONSTITUTION: A failure diagnosis device of a transmission comprises a clutch pedal(52); a clutch master cylinder(54) connected to the clutch pedal, to produce hydraulic pressure according to driver's leg power; a power cylinder(56) energizing the hydraulic pressure produced by the clutch master cylinder; a cylinder push rod installed to the power cylinder and moved back and forth by the energized hydraulic pressure; a transmission body(80) shifting and transmitting the output of an engine while an input shaft(84), an intermediate shaft(88), and an output shaft(86) are engaged; a release fork(72) combined to a side of the transmission body by a hinge(72a); and a sensing unit detecting each operating state. One end of the release fork is combined to the cylinder push rod and the release fork controls that a clutch is engaged with the output shaft.
