Actuating time (t), actuating pressure (p), relative speed (u) between brake lining and braking element and temperature ( theta ) prevailing in brake lining region, are taken into account to calculate the wear using a polynomial equation. The wear is subtracted from initial brake lining thickness individually for each wheel of the vehicle. - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for operating method of brake.
