The over-pressure valve comprises a multi-section body (1) fitted as an intermediate piece in a hydraulic or pneumatic system. To relieve an ensuing over-pressure a surface or membrane bursts open, protecting pipe systems and making over-pressures outside permissible tolerances visible. The membrane (2) is designed in such a way that it can be fastened on the body by male thread or female thread or by a pressing process. The valve body may be reused after the bursting of the membrane or surface. A seal (3) may be fitted between the valve body and membrane.
