The signal analysis method has an input signal sampled at equi-distant intervals, with digitizing of the sampled values via an A/D converter (1) for providing a bit stream. The signal amplitudes of equi-distant values of the bit stream are selected and linear combinations of adjacent signal amplitudes for a number of frequencies are provided and used for solution of differential equations, from which the frequencies contained in the analyzed signal and their respective phases and amplitudes are determined. An independent claim for a signal analysis device for signals containing one or more frequencies in discrete time intervals is also included.
