Method for producing a mosaic type handiwork image from an image pattern in which, based on the dimensions of the image to be produced and the dimensions of the image building blocks with which it is to be produced, the pattern is converted into a digital processing format. Finally the resolution (dots per inch) is selected so that the number of building blocks to be used corresponds to the number of pixels to be used in a commercially available image processing program used to generate control commands for an industrial robot.
