The piezoelectric drive (1) has a piezoelectric element (10) and an associated resonator (2), cooperating with a driven body (3). The mass distribution of the resonator provides its asymmetric oscillation in several directions, dependent on the frequency of the oscillation provided by the piezoelectric element, for driving the body in a given direction. Also included are Independent claims for the following: (a) a drive method using a piezoelectric element; (b) an application of a piezoelectric drive for stepped or continuous movement for a timepiece, a camera, a data memory, a microscopy table, or a tachometer.
