The method involves charging air sucked into an air collector tank of a combustion chamber (2) using a turbo-charger, and adjusting lift/stroke of an inlet/outlet valve. Turbo boost pressure of the suction air and lift/stroke of the valve are adjusted depending on an acceleration pedal position, using an engine control system in accordance with load conditions. The boost pressure of air is reduced while shifting valve stroke. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine.
