The control system for a three-point hitch for a tractor which consists of a top link and two bottom links comprises hydraulic cylinders (12, 14) which control the bottom links. These have pressure lines (20) which can be connected to a pressure supply (16) or to a hydraulic tank (18), the cylinders being independently controllable. The cylinders can be connected with each other when not connected to the pressure supply or tank. An independent claim is included for a method for controlling a three-point hitch using the system.
