A water sports course, e.g. a white water course (1) has an artificial water flow over a number of adjustable obstacles to create different types of challenges. The obstacles include flaps (4) hinged on the side of the course to move from a flat position on the sides to an obstructing position as well as flaps (4) hinged on the bottom of the course. The flaps are selectively extended or retracted by servo drives including hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical drives, operated by remote control.
