The method involves transitioning a programming voltage to a lower level that is higher than a bias voltage level to turn ON a switch with a pair of DMOS FETs and applying the transitioned voltage to a shared gate terminal of the switch through a transistor (M 4). A programming transistor gate voltage level is transitioned to a level that is lower than the transitioned programming voltage level to turn ON the transistor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a circuit for operating a switch (B) a method of operating a high-voltage switching circuit.
