The device to prevent aquaplaning by auto tyres comprises a fluted beading on the wheel arch shells (2) in such a way that the wheel arch shells in the front section in relation to the direction of travel have beads protruding into the wheel arch and formed at an angle to the verticals of a wheel and its running surface. As the wheel turns the fluted beading catches the water and guides it to the side (4) past the running surface of the wheel onto the road so that the water does not strike the track in front of the turning wheel.
