An actuating device especially an actuating magnet, has a housing for a coil bobbin (10) in which a actuating part is driven lengthwise and is provided with a winding of a conductor the ends of the latter being received by a retention device (32) and facilitates the connection of a contacting device with contact clips (36,38) for each conductor end. The contacting device is used with parts of it having a precise fit in at least one recess of the retaining device and the respective recess is arranged to extend parallel to the ends of the conductors, such that these are gripped over by the contact clips (36,38).
