The device (1) has a first section for attachment to a plug (2), a second section (1b) for attachment to a circuit board. The direction in which the device is applied to the plug to connect the first section is a first attachment direction and the direction in which the device with attached plug is applied to the circuit board is a second attachment direction essentially perpendicular to the first direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a plug with a housing for connection to a circuit board with an inventive device (b) and a retrofit kit for a plug.
