The hand shower unit has a switch system (2) to affect the fluid flow. It has an inlet (6) and outlet (7) for the water and an air suction unit which acts as a water spray pump, which is switched (2) on and off. It has at least one pump spray opening (38) which opens into the pump zone (40), through at least one air feed channel connected to the ambient environment. The passage cross section between the water inlet (6) and outlet (7) is expanded when the air suction system is switched off.
