Reducing phytotoxic effects, especially skin damage, caused by physical and chemical treatment of fruit and vegetables, by application of lecithins and their derivatives
The use of lecithins (and/or their derivatives) (I) is claimed for reducing the phytotoxicity of physical and/or chemical treatments of fruit and vegetables. Independent claims are included for: (a) compositions (A) containing (I) and one or more treatment agents (II) for fruit and vegetables; (b) the use of (A) for treating fruit and vegetables; (c) methods for treating fruit and vegetables, involving application of (A) or application of (I) before, simultaneously with or after a physical treatment; (d) the production of (A), by addition of (I) to an oily base followed by addition of (II); and (e) the use of treatment agents (II') as preservatives for (I).
