A vegetable retainer (21), comprises vegetable retaining portion which protrudes from recess and which is constructed of comb teeth bodies for being stuck into vegetable to retain the vegetable; sliding portions which are guided by both side portions of vegetable cooking utensil main body to slide; and holding portion which extends upwardly from upper surface of retainer main body portion and by which cooking person holds vegetable retainer. A vegetable retainer for vegetable cooking utensil (1) which is provided with cooking blade (3) on approximately central portion in longitudinal direction of cooking utensil main body (2) of roughly rectangle in plan view, comprises: (1) a flat plate-like retainer main body portion whose central portion underside is recessed to form a recess; (2) a vegetable retaining portion which protrudes from the recess and which is constructed of comb teeth bodies for being stuck into a vegetable to retain the vegetable; sliding portions which extend vertically on both side portions of the retainer main body portion and which are guided by both side portions of the vegetable cooking utensil main body to slide; and (3) a holding portion which extends upwardly from an upper surface of the retainer main body portion and by which a cooking person holds the vegetable retainer.
