Preparation of synthesis gas (I), comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide, comprises partial oxidation of a hydrocarbon charge (such as natural gas) and current oxidation (air or oxygen) on a fixed catalytic bed. Preparation of synthesis gas (I), comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide, comprises: partial oxidation of a hydrocarbon charge (such as natural gas); current oxidation (air or oxygen) on a fixed catalytic bed (comprising a supply-pipe supplied with previously purified compressed air and preheated at greater than 400 (preferably 500-900)[deg]C, a partial oxidation chamber provided with a burner installed inside an oxidation reactor; a supply-pipe supplied (under pressure) with gaseous hydrocarbon (CxHy) (methane, propane, butane or a mixture of hydrocarbon), which is previously desulfured, a distribution chamber to which a pipe is fixed, which ensures the vertical injection of (CxHy) above the catalytic bed in the higher part of the partial oxidation chamber, at the point of injection of the oxygenized medium and at least a multiple pipes provided to ensure a horizontal injection inside the catalytic bed); reacting a part of injected (CxHy) with the oxygenized medium and performing its combustion in the higher part of the partial oxidation chamber according to a stoichiometric ratio of oxygen/CxHy of at least 0.5, and simultaneously ensuring the combustion of another part of gaseous hydrocarbon in the catalytic zone; recuperating (I) produced in a zone situated above the catalytic zone inside the oxidation reactor comprising an evacuation circuit (U form) of a gaseous mixture product, in which increasing the pressure and the temperature by means of limiting the intensity of evacuation of (I) produced by the lateral compartments and preheating the circulating oxygenized medium in high temperature in a supply-pipe which penetrates in the zone to supply an exchanger of heat, before joining the injection point in the higher part of the partial oxidation chamber, and operating the catalytic conversion of at least one part of carbon dioxide formed in carbon monoxide and water or in carbon monoxide and hydrogen by direct contact of synthesis gas product with the catalyst which is either in iron-oxide, chromium oxide or nickel oxide deposited on the external faces of elements which constitutes the exchanger; after preheating the oxygenized medium, the synthesis gas product evacuates itself from the partial oxidation chamber and the zone of transfer of heat by the lateral compartments of the evacuation circuit of gaseous mixture product towards an exit-pipe of the reactor, which ensures its transport towards the place of its utilization. An independent claim is also included for a equipment for the production of (I), comprising means that allows a simultaneous double injection of gaseous hydrocarbon vertically to the injection point of the oxygenized medium.
