PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting insert for use in groove machining, which can smoothly finish a groove side wall surface without causing chattering.;SOLUTION: The cutting insert for groove machining has a central body provided with a clamp means for mounting the insert on a tool main body, cutting edges each formed at a location protruding from the central body and consisting of a cutting face as an upper surface, and front and lateral flanks as side surfaces, cutting blades each formed of a crossing ridge between the cutting face and the front flank, lateral cutting blades each formed of a crossing ridge between the cutting face and the lateral flank, and arched corner cutting blades each formed between the front cutting blade and the lateral cutting blade.
