PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and easily perform the adjustment work in site for obtaining the proper number of steps to indicate the nozzle direction from the output of an encoder.;SOLUTION: The water spray gun has a nozzle 30 attached in such a way that the nozzle can be swiveled, and the encoder 38 for detecting and outputting the position of swivel of the nozzle 30 as the number of horizontal steps. In adjusting the water spray gun, the error in the number of steps, outputted from the encoder 38 with the nozzle 30 positioned in the horizontal direction, or for example, in the front direction for obtaining a prescribed number of adjustment steps of a monitoring area, from the number of adjustment steps is computed and retained. In monitoring the apparatus, the number of steps outputted from the encoder 38 is corrected based on the retained error when the number of steps is adjusted, and the corrected number is outputted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
