METHOD OF SHORTENING CURING PERIOD OF ASPHALT CONCRETE LAYER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of shortening a curing period of an asphalt concrete layer and shortening a construction period, in construction of an elastic pavement consisting of the asphalt concrete layer and a pavement layer placed on the same, the method having been conventionally carried out by placing the asphalt concrete layer, leaving the same in the natural environment for two weeks or more as a curing period to degrade a surface of the asphalt concrete layer, and placing the pavement layer on the degraded surface.;SOLUTION: The method of shortening the asphalt concrete layer curing period is carried out by brushing the surface of the asphalt concrete layer placed on a substrate, in construction of the pavement. According to the method a sweeper on which a plastic or wire brush is mounted is operated to travel on the asphalt concrete layer, and to wash the surface by spraying sand or water on the same as needed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
