PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which a means is required to separately compute improvement in the deterioration amount difference by a correction effect and to reflect the computational result to an accumulated deterioration amount difference so that a correction amount is determined using an input signal prior to the image persistence correction. PSOLUTION: The luminous device, in which a plurality of luminous elements are arranged on a substrate in a matrix manner, has: (a) a deterioration amount difference correcting section which corrects the input signal related to the driving condition of the luminous elements based on a successively determined correction amount; (b) a deterioration amount difference computing section which computes the deterioration amount difference between each pixel and a reference pixel according to the input signal after the correction; (c) a cumulative deterioration amount difference computing section which cumulatively adds the deterioration amount difference computed for each pixel and computes a cumulative deterioration amount difference for each pixel; and (d) a correction amount determining section which successively determines the correction amount used to correct the input signal according to the cumulative deterioration amount difference.
