PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a readily handleable cell having channel gate receptor functions according to a genetic engineering approach and to construct a system for functional assay using the same.;SOLUTION: The cell expressing the receptor is obtained by transducing a gene expressing a fusion protein of the receptor having specific functions and a reporter protein into a readily culturable cell. The activity of the reporter protein expressed by the cell is assayed to quantitatively evaluate the specific functions of the receptor. Thereby, a model cell having the standardized activity is obtained. The resultant model cell is reacted with a target substance to measure a change in potential of an electrode contacting the model cell or measure a change in ion concentration around the model cell.
