PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for referencing medical images, a method for referencing medical images, and a medical image reference system capable of eliminating wasteful contents communicated so as to reduce communication time and relieve the burden on an image server device. PSOLUTION: The method for referencing medical images includes, when the apparatus for referencing medical images searches an image server device that stores medical images for any medical image for reference, detecting search items unsupported by the image server device; storing the results of the detection; and making adjustments according to the stored results so that the unsupported search items are not provided.
