PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling startup current of a motor and a disk drive using the method.;SOLUTION: This method is a control method of the startup current of the motor including a step 303 in which presence of occurrence of power-on reset is grasped by history information including the number of times of retry of power-on reset by voltage drop of a supplied power source generated at the time of startup of a spindle motor of a disk drive 10 and retry discrimination data which can discriminate presence of power-on reset and steps 305, 308 determining the startup current of the spindle motor in accordance with the number of times of retry.
