PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning system or the like, capable of inputting the initial position thereto, even in the case a user who is unfamiliar with the geography including the current position, can not use the last positioning point as the initial position because of an elapse of long period after positioning last time.;SOLUTION: A terminal device 30 is provided with an audio information receiving means 40 which receives audio information indicative of a regional name of the current region including the current position; a textual information acquiring means which converts the audio information into textual information; a regional name information storing means 142 which stores information about a plurality of regional names; a correspondence regional name extracting means which extracts correspondence regional name information indicative of a regional name corresponding to the textual information from the regional name information storing means 142; a regional name positional information storing means which stores regional name positional information indicative of a position corresponding to the regional name; a correspondence regional position information extracting means which extracts correspondence regional position information indicative of a position corresponding to the correspondence regional name information from the regional name positional information storing means; and an initial position information inputting means which inputs correspondence regional information as the initial position information used for positioning the current position by using a positioning means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
