PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that fusion promotion effect is suppressed in a chemical fusion injecting deuteron or proton beam of energy of 50 keV or less per nuclide in liquid target of molten metal lithium because a chemical fusion reaction producing lithium hydride in the liquid competes, though a reaction rate increases to 1013 times or more by a thermodynamic force in the liquid.;SOLUTION: For avoiding the competing chemical reaction, lithium ion extracted out of an ion source or accelerating lithium ion generated by discharge in the reaction tank is injected onto the surface of liquid target such as molten metal lithium or lithium alloy and the like, the problem is resolved by inducing chemical fusion reaction which increases due to thermodynamic force in the liquid target.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
