METHOD FOR DETERMINING CAUSE OF ACCIDENT IN POWER TRANSMISSION LINE AND DISTRIBUTION LINE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the cause of a fault of a power transmission line and a distribution line capable of determining the cause of accident at a high precision without using computer of high computing capacity. PSOLUTION: The determination method is composed of following steps: the step for sampling the surge wave form generated in the fault and calculating the difference between the sample data to each other; the step for superposing the sample data over a plurality of periods of the commercial frequency; the step for calculating the appearance probability of the difference data exceeding the predetermined variation amount by equally dividing the superposed difference data into the difference data of a plurality of intervals and by counting the difference data exceeding the predetermined variation amount in each division; the step for counting the number of divisions exceeding the predetermined probability among the appearance probability of calculated each division; and the step for determining the cause of the accident by verifying the measured division number of intervals exceeding the predetermined probability by the data of criteria classified by the cause of fault previously stored in the second memory means.
