PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a series of motion pictures so as to be easily viewed by aligning their horizontal directions with an actual horizontal direction at all the time regardless of a photographing angle in motion picture photographing. PSOLUTION: In an electronic camera 100 according to the present invention, when photographing each frame image constructing a moving image, the state of inclining a case of the electronic camera 100 is detected by an aspect sensor 19, and an aspect flag indicative of the detected inclination state is recorded in association with each of the frame images of the moving image. Furthermore, when reproducing a motion picture, the frame images are rotated based on the aspect flag corresponding to each of the frame images, so that the frame images are reproduced after correcting their horizontal directions.
