PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting micro-droplets capable of appropriately detecting the micro-droplets using a light even when a variation of the output is generated by variation factors such as an environmental variation during detecting the droplet.;SOLUTION: The apparatus for detecting the micro-droplets is equipped with a light emitting part 51 outputting a detecting light L so that it crosses a locus of the micro-droplets I delivered from each nozzle of a nozzle row on which a plurality of nozzles are arranged, a light receiving part 52 for receiving the detecting light L, a delivery controlling means for controlling delivery of the micro-droplets I toward the detecting light L from all the nozzles successively time-serially, and a detecting part for comparing a detecting output outputted from a light receiving part 52 with a comparison reference potential and detecting the presence of the detecting light passing-through the micro-droplets I from the result of the comparison. The apparatus for detecting the micro-droplets is characterized by that the detecting part has an amplitude measuring part 106 for measuring the amplitude of the detecting output outputted from the light receiving part 52, the result of measurement by the amplitude measuring part 106 is added to or subtracted from the comparison reference potential, and the added or subtracted comparison reference potential is compared with the detecting output.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
