PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for improving a blocking rate of a permeation membrane, which is used easily in safety at a place where the selective permeation membrane such as a nano-filtration membrane and a reverse osmosis membrane is used and which can keep such a state for a long time without extremely lowering a permeated flux that the blocking rate of an inorganic electrolyte, water-soluble organic matter or the like is improved and to provide a method for improving the blocking rate by using this agent, the permeation membrane which is treated by this method and has the improved blocking rate and a water treating method using the resulting permeation membrane.;SOLUTION: This agent for improving the blocking rate of the permeation membrane contains an ionic high polymer having ≥100,000 weight-average molecular weight. This method for improving the blocking rate of the permeation membrane comprises a step of treating the permeation membrane by using this agent. This permeation membrane is treated by this method.
