PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand the function of an operation terminal such as an electronic instrument by the use of a network without being restricted by a terminal equipment. ;SOLUTION: A host computer(HC) 1 is connected to a terminal equipment(TE) 2 through a network and an electronic instrument (EI) 3 is connected to the TE 2. A sound tone preparing function, an automatic accompaniment function, an EI simulating function, and other functions are included in the HC 1 as functions related to the EI 3. Data communication through the network is executed between the TE 2 and the HC 1 and the HC 1 executes various functions. Sound tone data obtained by the sound tone preparing function, accompaniment data prepared by the automatic accompaniment function, operation control data obtained by the EI simulating function, and other data from the HC 1 are transferred to the EI 3 through the TE 2. The execution parts of respective functions of the HC 1 and an EI interface part corresponding to the execution parts are loaded down to the EI 3 through the TE 2.
