PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the functions of an operation terminal of an electronic musical instrument, etc., without receiving the restriction on a local terminal 2, by utilizing a network.;SOLUTION: A host computer 1 and the local terminal 2 are connected through the network and the electronic musical instrument 3 is connected to the local terminal 2. A timbre creating function, automatic accompaniment function, electronic musical instrument copying function, and other functions relating to the electronic musical instrument are previously imparted into the host computer 1. The various functions are executed by the local terminal 2 and the host computer 1. The timbre data obtained by the timbre creating function of the host computer 1, the performance data created by the automatic accompaniment function, the operation control data obtained by the electronic musical instrument copying function, etc., are transferred through the local terminal 2 to the electronic musical instrument 3. The execution sections of the respective functions of the host computer 1 and the interface section for the electronic musical instrument corresponding to the execution sections are downloaded into the electronic musical instrument 3 through the local terminal 2. The operations are similarly carried out in other operating terminals as well in place of the electronic musical instrument 3.
