PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the milking time with a milk pump in a milking system using a vacuum pump and the milk pump.;SOLUTION: This apparatus for measuring the milking time is designed to measure an operating time t of the vacuum pump, measure an operating time T of the milk pump during operation of the vacuum pump, store the operating time t of the vacuum pump and the operating time T of the milk pump in a memory every time the operation of the vacuum pump is off. When the milking time is summed up, a former washing time and a latter washing time are judged with the operating time t of the vacuum pump in the operating time t of the vacuum pump and the operating time T of the milk pump read from the memory. The time except the operating time T of the milk pump corresponding to the former washing time and latter washing time is summed up. The amount milked can be obtained by multiplying the summed value of the milking time by a prescribed coefficient.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
