PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting block that has holes bored and can retain stabilized ventilation and drainage and to provide a method of boring the drain holes.;SOLUTION: In the drain hole 3 bored on sidewalls of a block body 2 in the shape of a bottomless frame or of a plate, or on the side wall of a block body 2 of a bottom-having bowl shape and/or bored on the bottom, a mesh body 4 or a porous lid 17 is set inside the drain hole 3, as they are extended under tension and the peripheries are buried into the block body 2 in order to inhibit the filler for plant growth from flowing through the mesh out.
