PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the accuracy of a map and smoothness of scrolling effectively compatible for the display of the map at navigating. ;SOLUTION: A calculator 41 calculates coefficients for correcting display contents of a map in the longitude direction, based on the latitude of a display area of the map, a holder 42 holds the calculated coefficients based on a scroll start point when scrolling the map, a display controller 43 is a part of writing the contents of the map shown on a display 10, based on the coefficients and constitutes a means for displaying the map with the display 10, and an updating part 44 updates the coefficients when the indication scale of the map changes even during scrolling.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
