PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for charging an anode, which can charge it in a furnace without damaging a hearth, or to provide a method of designing a furnace.;SOLUTION: The method for charging the anode 1 includes bending a top of the anode 1 which has been formed into a tabular and approximately rectangular shape, and charging the anode 1 into a molten metal 20 in a copper- making furnace 2 through a slope 8, wherein the bent angle α (degree) of the above anode 1 and a length c (cm) of the bent top of the above anode are set to satisfy the expression (1): DA×(csinα/b)^β+0.06(H-190), when a depth of the above molten metal 20 is D (cm), a height of the above slope 8 is H (cm), an angle of inclination of the slope 8 is β (degree), and a thickness of the above anode 1 is b (cm), (wherein the above A and B are given by the expression (2): A=-1,051(sinβ)²+2,028sinβ-839.3 and the expression (3): B=7.378(sinβ)²-11.64sinβ+3.806).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
