Method for the prevention of turnover of rear wheel steered vehicles, wherein the rear wheels are steered to attain desired steering angles driven with a desired speed in which method actual slip angles are determined which are compared with pre-set slip angles, in order to intervene in a vehicle steering when an actual slip angle is in a predetermined relation to the pre-set slip angle, in which method further only the slip angles of the steered rear wheels of the vehicle are determined and compared with a predetermined slip angle maximum value, and the steering angle being controlled such that the slip angle is below the predetermined maximum value.
